This is a spiritual ministry open to all parishioners especially the elderly and homebound. This is a special way of serving our parish through private prayer. Prayers are offered for the world, the church and in particular the needs of our own parishioners. There are no meetings or dues. We ask only for your prayers united in a bond of love. To date we have more than 200 people in this ministry. For more information please call Sister Patricia Walsh at 634-1761 or E-mail her below.

March/April 2008

Dear Friend,

We know that the two groundhogs were confused on February 2nd. One said, early Spring, the other said, more Winter days. Mother Nature went right along with them. We experienced Spring weather one week and the next week, Winter returned.

Perhaps during Lent, our prayer life seems to be the same. One day, our prayer can be so fulfilling and we can feel God right there at the center. The next day, our prayer might seem so dry and we wonder where God could possibly be. Thank God, our faith tells us that God is there on both our good days and on the bad ones. He loves us just the same. He never changes.

As we wait patiently for Spring, we pray that we will soon witness new life from the plants which have been lying dormant during the cold Winter months. We pray that we will truly feel like "Alleluia" people when Easter arrives.

During these months please remember to pray:
· for those who are estranged from the Church that they might return to the sacraments this Lent
· for all of our parishioners who are suffering from cancer or strokes
· for young children who are ill and their parents
· for all of those who are in rehab. because of hip or knee replacements
· for God's special blessings on all for whom St. Patrick's day or St Joseph's day is a special celebration
· for all of our service men and women and their families
· for an end to all war and for peace throughout the world

God bless you,

Msgr. John J. Brown Sister Patricia Walsh
