This is a spiritual ministry open to all parishioners especially the elderly and homebound. This is a special way of serving our parish through private prayer. Prayers are offered for the world, the church and in particular the needs of our own parishioners. There are no meetings or dues. We ask only for your prayers united in a bond of love. To date we have more than 200 people in this ministry. For more information please call Sister Patricia Walsh at 634-1761 or E-mail her below.

January/February 2010

Dear Friends,

In case you haven’t noticed, “old man winter” has come upon us. We pray that it will leave us early this year. In the meantime, we wish each of you a very happy, healthy and blessed 2010.

Our world seems to be so broken these days. Everything seems to be upside down. Sometimes we can become very discouraged and upset and even prayer becomes difficult. That is when we have to remind ourselves that it is God’s world. He created it and also saved it by dying and rising to new life. Thank God He did not give that job to us! We would really make a mess of things. He only wants us to keep the faith, never give up praying and remind ourselves that He is the God of all people and what’s more, He loves all people. He must be saddened at times and disappointed, but He never stops loving us. How blessed we are.

In your prayer these months please pray:

· For those who do not have all the necessities, a warm home, a job, or loving family
· For those who fight the constant battle of addiction and for their families
· For all of our service men and women and their families
· For those who feel so alone especially during this cold weather
· For an end to all terrorism and war
· For each other in gratitude for the prayer that you share with so many in our parish

May God bless you,

Msgr. John J. Brown Sister Patricia Walsh

P.S. Pray for each other.
